SEE the SOUND of the SEA는 홍성현아트컴퍼니의 대표곡인 '그 빗소리 요란하네'와 '초벌비'를 동해안 무가의 상징적 색채와 이미지를 활용하여 제작한 3D 모션그래픽 영상과 고성부터 주문진까지 이어지는 동해안 지역의 자연과 삶의 현장을 담은 로드뮤비 형식의 아트필름 제작 프로젝트다. 

'보는음악', '듣는이미지'를 주제로 하는 SEE the SOUND of the SEA 프로젝트는 전통음악과 현대시각예술의 만남으로, 장르적 경계를 탈피하는 Part 1과 동해안 무악이 품고 있는 동해안의 이야기를 이방인의 발걸음을 따라 목격하는 Part 2로 구성된다.

SEE the SOUND of the SEA, with the theme of "Viewing Music" and "Listening Image", is an arts film production project for 'How loud the rain is' and 'Chobeolbi', the representative music pieces of Hongsunghyun in collaboration with 3D motion graphics and filming by visualizing the symbolic colors and images of Eastern Coastal Shaman music and ritual as well as naturs and the life scenes in the east coast from Goseong to Jumunjin, the northeastern part of Korea.

​SEE the SOUND of the SEA, with the theme of "Viewing Music" and "Listening Image," is an arts collaboration project meeting traditional music and modern visual arts and it consists of Part 1, which breaks away from genre boundaries,  and
Part 2, which witnesses the story of the Eastern Coastal Shaman music in the footsteps of strangers.

​'part 1 그 빗소리 요란하네'는 전통 음악에 맞춰 구성한 즉흥 안무의 움직임을 3D 모션그래픽으로 전개, 변형, 왜곡하여 동해안 무악이 가지고 있는 역동성과 즉흥성을 현대 시각 예술 기법으로 구현한다.

​"Part 1. How loud the rain is" embodies the dynamics and improvisation of Eastern Coastal shaman music with modern
visual art techniques by developing, transforming, and distorting the movements of improvised choreography arranged
with traditional music in 3D motion graphics.

​음악 필름 형식의 'Part 2' 초벌비'는 동해안별신굿이 기원한 동해 어촌 마을과 자연을 영상에 담아 과거부터 현재, 그리고 미래로 이어질 자연과 음악을 이방인의 발걸음으로 따라가는 로드뮤비 형식으로, 시공간을 초월한 생명력으로 인간에게 휴식과 치유, 때로는 두려움 등 다양한 감정을 불러 일으키는 동해안의 바다와 그곳에서 변함없이 삶을 영위하는 어촌 마을 사람들의 생생한 생명력을 담는다.

​​Part 2. Chobeolbi is a music film in the form of short road movie that captures the life of East Sea fishing village and nature
where Donghaean Byeolsingut is originated from and follows nature and music that will continue from the past to the
present and the future with strangers' footsteps.
With its vitality beyond time and space, the film shows the shores of East Coast, which invokes various emotions such as
comfort, healing, and even fear sometimes, and fishing village people who still continue to engage their lives there.
